Young people with disabilities are often perceived in a negative way by the others and the stereotypes and prejudices transform them in a vulnerable group which need a specific and complex therapeutic approach.
Partner schools conduct a variety of activities related to therapeutic interactions on the artistic field.
During the work with students art, craft, music, photography, theatre, choreography, etc., are used.
These methods give students the opportunity to develop their interests, overcome weaknesses, increasing the sense of their value and encouraging their future integration into society.
The participation in art classes and competitions at different levels( including the national and international level) will give students the opportunity to interact with children and youth from various European countries.
Strategies and teaching methods in the field of artistic education will be exchanged and developed in all the partner countries.
This knowledge will contribute to the development of the educational offer of the institutions involved.
In our opinion it is extremely useful the professional experience of project partners that bring educational and therapeutic interventions recognized in the related fields of educating children with various disabilities and disorders (mental disabilities, oral and written language disorders, autistic spectrum disorders and learning disabilities). In this context we consider it extremely useful for parents, educators and therapists to have an integrated material related to artistic activities which can be used in working with students with additional learning needs.
Learning about the language and culture of partner institutions will be the best opportunity for improving cooperation between teachers and students and in the same time will insure a European dimension of our project.
