Thanks to this project, we want our students to have opportunity to know peers from other countries, their learning methods and the most important form of artistic activity in their schools. The majority of our students comes from rural areas where they are don’t have any chance to participate in cultural life. Also many of students live in poverty and pathological families, but what the most significant their disability doesn’t allow them for full independence. Therefore, as school we try to give our students chance to improve their social development, including cultural life. Participating in the project is the best form of integration with peers and non- disabled people from other countries. Additionally, the project would help to exchange the experience, knowledge, abilities between teachers from different schools.

New Chance Educational Center
History of the school
We have started our job in an alternative pedagogic manner in the school year of 1990/91. We were a part of the Local Mate Elementary School. We have worked out a plan about how to teach deficient, disadvantaged children who came from gypsy families.Included not only theoretical but functional issues what they can use in everyday life.
Forbidding using the Elementary Schools budget we have made a foundation called Munkaiskola Foundation. It has been entered in 1991 by the registry court.
Now after many changes we have:
1. Kindergarten: we have started the school year of 1994/95 with kindergarten group of 15.
Now we have two kindergarten groups with 50 children, 3 kindergarten teachers and 4 nurses.
2. We could reach that disadvantaged students can study in the same curriculum as normal students with the help of our kindergarten studies. In the main building we have Classes from 1-4 where there are 65 students in this year.
3. The Secondary School building is at Szentpéteri Street. You can find upper classes here from 5-8 classes where we have 87 students.
Here the children have afternoon lessons with two groups. After finishing homework, they have time for artistic, physical, and drama tasks. They also can develop and prepare themselves for team competition.
4. Vocational school
The Primary school students who finished their studies in 1998 couldn’t continue their studies in a high-school or Vocational School because of their poor social status or just they didn’t want to leave or school. So we had to begin a Vocational School. We could give profession to students and they didn’t have to leave our school.
Goals of the Vocational School:
Teach the students the good behavior for work and give one or more profession. At first we primed students of agrarian region as an Ornamental Plant Grower. Later we primed Hairdressers, than Dressmakers and Computer Users.
Over the years we have more and more new professions like:
- Women’s tailor,
- office assistant,
- velder,
- mason,
- social workers and nurse
- drywall consturctor
